Q1: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products
Our media product has taken form as a music video accompanied by a digi-pack and poster to promote our main artist as is typical with other media products.
Our media products use and develop many different conventions of real media products for example echoing the typical style of product promotion in the hip-hop genre we used our artist as the main driving force behind our promotion creating a strong sense of individuality within. This was achieved by the use of many different close-ups for the digi-pack and usage of our track name and surroundings to create an identity for our artist which has been done by scores of artists within the music industry for example 50 cent who has created a gangster/entrepreneur image like our artists has gained the identity of a rapper who’s heavily focused on money and his background roots.
The music video is immensely typical in its following of hip-hop conventions the surroundings and costume don’t really conform to a stereotypical image of gangster rappers as it has a quintessential brutishness to it. Its editing however tends to challenge normal conventions for example its use of wipes and staggered matrix style effects more specifically the bullet dodging effect are not something that are generally found in music video this tends to add some originality and an interesting effect to the video and keeps viewers from getting bored of the same type of editing they commonly see.
The digi-pack tends to challenge conventions in the fact that a lot of artists in the hip-hop genre tend to use large glitzy jewelry or strong graffiti or a strong surrounding of some form to create the style it wishes to achieve. Ours however uses several portrait shots of our artist, which doesn’t always show him clearly, but our altered to make the promotion of him stronger something illustrated by the work below.
below are some examples comparing our work to original texts

professor greens video bears the most similarity to ours as it is quintessential british hip-hop but retains a looser and more gritty feel to the production. like frame professor green's image is heavily promoted and very distinguishable thanks to how the camera is used it picks up the qualities of what we most associate with him such as his tattoo and hair cut much like frame is noticeable thanks to the promotion on his image which is made into a brand like status thanks to well lit camera shots.
